For over 380 years, the Obritzhauser family has cultivated land, livestock, and vineyards in Hohenwarth. What began as a mixed agricultural estate evolved through generations into a focused dedication to wine — guided by resilience, adaptation, and deep respect for the land.
A Legacy Shaped by Generations
In 1939, Josef and Anna Obritzhauser established the family’s independent winery. Over the decades, the estate gradually shifted from mixed farming to a refined focus on viticulture. Each generation carried the responsibility forward — preserving tradition while embracing change — from livestock farming to a pure commitment to wine.

Today, Stefan Obritzhauser leads the winery, bringing global experience from renowned wine regions including California, New Zealand, France, Australia, South Africa, and Canada. His journey blends international expertise with deep family roots.
While contributing to major Austrian wine houses, Stefan continues to personally care for the vineyard in Hohenwarth — supported by his father — ensuring every bottle reflects both heritage and modern craftsmanship.
